2014 Zinfandel Dessert Wine

2014 was the last year we harvested Zinfandel. We took a small portion of that harvest and made 1 barrel of dessert or "port styled" wine.  That barrel has been sitting in the barrel room for 10 years and has gone through a number of phases.  At one point around 2017 Cal brought up the idea that we possibly dump it in favor of the more traditional dessert wines we had started making from Touriga Nacional.  We decided to let it be a unique wine that we would only make once and settled that the best course of action was to simply leave it alone and let it age.  The aging is finally done.  This last week we bottled it and it is released!  It is smooth and full of chocolate and caramel flavors with hints of candied citrus and holiday spices.  Get a bottle of this wonderful 10 year barrel aged dessert wine while we have it!
