Wine awards

Wine awards!  I am pleased to say that we have received hundreds of medals as well as awards, points, editors choice, etc. etc.

So what's it all about?  Well if you have a wine that you feel is good, you can submit it into different competitions to see how it stands up against other wines in the same category.  The judges will score the wines based on things like color, balance, varietally correct flavor and body, etc.  We feel it is important to see how we are comparing to other wineries in the area as well as other wineries in the US as a whole.  We generally submit 7 or 8 wines per vintage to different competitions and reviewers.  Some vintages do better than others while some varietals consistently do better than others.  I like to think of the whole thing as a certification.  While you can have a good wine that has no awards there is no guarantee that a wine without any awards is any good.  However, it is highly unlikely you will have a bad wine that has won awards.

So an award winning wine is certified delicious... or gold or 94 points or whatever the metric is.
